WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Would you like to volunteer at Abbey Farms?  Would you like to be part of our Friends of the Farm Team? To better represent the many dedicated individuals and families of Abbey Farms we have established the Friends of the Farm group but we need your help to fill it.

Over the next few years we hope to develop the Friends of the Farm into a multifaceted organization that will play a part in our community outreach programs such as education as well as coordination of volunteer efforts throughout the farm and expansion of services (see The Plan page).   If you are interested in helping us organize this group, please send us an email or give us a call at our office.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Abbey Farms is comprised of many talented people. Each year volunteers come out to help us plant, sell and continue the Marmion tradition.  We are both deeply grateful and proud to call each and every volunteer a member of our family.  If you ever have a little down time or are a little curious about the farm and wouldn’t mind getting your hands dirty, give us a call, an extra pair of hands is always appreciated.

We would also like to take this opportunity to offer our thanks to all those that have helped us this year initiate our new services through their generous donations of time, knowledge and materials.  We are both sincerely grateful and deeply humbled by the continued support from the community.

A special thanks goes out to Mr. Cibulskis ‘70, Mr. Brummel ’70,  andthe late Mr. Konen ‘53, for helping coordinate the first ever 2009 Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, to Mr. McGuire’s donation of over 150 mature landscape trees to beautify our campus and to Greg Voirin, ’06, and his team from Not Just Grass, Inc., for their generous donations of time and equipment to help us move forward with our Strategic Plan.  Finally we would like to thank Pete Bakala ‘65 for his generous donation of food preparation equipment for our Fall Festival.

Our Volunteers

Friends of the Farm

We at Abbey Farms are both very grateful and very humbled by the continued support from our community.  The money earned goes directly to the Abbey to carry out their work throughout our community.  As you can imagine, it takes a lot to run a 200 acre non-profit farm.  Over the next few years we are hoping to grow our operations.  To do that will take time, dedication and of course money.  If you have spare or unused equipment, would be willing to volunteer your efforts or would like to donate to one of our planned improvement projects, please let us know!

Again, the existence of Abbey Farms relies on the goodness and charity of the surrounding strong community, and we are deeply grateful for all those who have given to us both this year and years past.
